Lead Instructor
Tom is the founder of the Gibraltar-based activity and adventure company In2adventures which promotes healthy educational outdoor activities, respect for nature and community spirit. Tom is a pioneer for stand-up paddle boarding in Gibraltar and was a major force in turning Sandy Bay into an inclusive beach hub. Tom’s world-wide travelling experiences while hiking, surfing and SUPing are an inspiration. Tom created a culture that operates in collaboration with the surrounding environment and has encouraged people of all ages and walks of life to get out and paddle. Tom is an experienced paddle instructor (level 2) certified by the British Stand Up Paddleboarding Association (BSUPA), an Adaptive Surf Instructor certified by the International Surfing Association, a first aider, sports coach and Moroccan mountain guide.
Instructor and Project Manager
Kat is a BSUPA L1 Paddle Board Instructor, ISA Adaptive Surf Instructor, first aider and registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance having completed more than 900 hours of training. She is certified in (Trauma Centre, TSY-Facilitator) for survivors of relational trauma. Kat educates schools and businesses in bringing awareness on the effects of stress, psychological and physiological trauma. In the framework of this role, she is also an advisor on how to build trauma sensitive systems of care. Kat has developed and explored a movement practice for over 15 years providing body-based therapy on the water and on land. In her nurturing, calm and open manner, she makes sure that SUP sessions are approachable for each individual and creates a predictable, safe space in which participants can explore movement and experience self-empowerment.
Instructor and Volunteer Coordintor
Benjamin is a psychotherapist and guardian ad litem (GAL), appointed by the courts to represent and protect the interests of vulnerable children and youths alongside a legal advocate in care proceedings. Benjamin additionally works as a clinician in private practice with his specialty being anxiety and medical trauma psychotherapy. Previous roles included implementing and assessing psychological services for refugees on behalf of the UNHCR and being a psychotherapist for the National Health Service (NHS) in London. In this post he gained interdisciplinary experience in fields such as neurology, palliative care and rehabilitation. In his current practice, Ben favours a holistic approach with outdoor sports being top of his prescription list. Benjamin is also a first aider and an ISA Adaptive Surf Instructor.
Instructor, Health and Safety
Jimmy is an outdoors man and qualified as an instructor in many adventure activities. Following a full successful career in the military, Jimmy developed his outdoor instructor skills and worked in the outdoor industry in Cornwall. He has been on numerous expeditions around the world including high altitude mountaineering in the Himalayas and the European Alps. Jimmy is a BSUPA paddle sport coach (level 2), an ISA Adaptive Surf Instructor and trained in first aid. His passion, knowledge and experience allow for him to adapt equipment such as paddles and boards to suit each individual.
Instructor and Safeguarding
Andy is a BSUPA paddle board guide (level 2), an ISA Adaptive Surf Instructor, a tour guide for the Gibraltar Tourist Association and certified in first aid. He has great empathy and forms warm and caring connections with children and youths. Impressively Andy is a self taught pilot and a passionate cyclist, has an interest in rock-climbing and is currently taught in this discipline by our very own Jimmy Gracia.
